The purpose of this blog

... is not complicated.

In short, some University of Manitoba students are interested in doing some praying for the U of M and for the world, in a concentrated, semi-organized sort of fashion, for a continuous period of time. The organizers (who don't really like talking about themselves in the third person, but can't think of a better way to phrase things) intend that this will take place somewhere in University Centre from the evening of Tuesday, January 26th to the evening of Thursday, January 28th. More specific details to follow (hopefully soon).

UPDATE: Everything will take place in University Centre, Room 522 (Teulon). Prayer will begin with a brief worship service at 7:00 PM on January 26 and continue until 7:00 PM on January 28.

We hope to have people actually *praying* for the entire time, to which end we will be assembling a schedule of times when people are available to pray. This will be updated as people sign up. It would be good to have at least two people confirmed for each one-hour slot. Eventually, the schedule itself will be posted here and updated regularly as the dates approach.

If you are available at any particular time or range of times (and would like to participate), please e-mail us at:

umprayer at gmail dot com

We hope to maintain a list of things for which our pray-ers should pray. If you have particular ideas in this regard, please e-mail us at:

umprayer at gmail dot com

If you have other suggestions with respect to this event ... well, you know what to do.

Dave
(for the various people vaguely in charge of this)
